Speedrun/savestate mod for modern versions
I saw over at Miepee's mod collection that there's AM2R 1.1 speedrun practice mods. From my understanding, however, they can't be combined with the 1.5+ update. It would be great to have such a mod for 1.5 or higher, for speedrunners and non-speedrunners alike - the former would have a simpler way of routing and practicing things, and for the latter, I think the savestates would be the most useful feature, as they're the only thing missing compared to playing the official titles on the emulator. I often found myself wishing for savestates when I wanted to reset a Shinespark chain and had to manually walk to the very beginning of it and through the nearest door.

Any cool mods besides Multitroid?
As great or almost as great as Multitroid? No. The only other mod that's public and does significant code edits is AM2R: Fate. All other mods either only change text / palettes / sound. There are however two mods in development that do signifcant edits. One is apparently very frog related, the other tries to bring back cut content.
