SurveyJS
Open-Source JSON Form Builder to Create Dynamic Forms Right in Your App. With SurveyJS form UI libraries, you can build and style forms in a fully-integrated drag & drop form builder, render them in your JS app, and store form submission data in any backend, inc. PHP, ASP.NET Core, and Node.js.
Not sure if this would be of interest to you, but my project Greenwood let’s you start with just HTML / markdown and standard web dev to build out the rest, with a focus on supporting Web Components, even for SSR. https://www.greenwoodjs.io
Being a javascript beginner, I thought templates would be easier. However, I have been checking out u/bryku suggestion of mithrilJS and its been still a bit of learning (as should be expected in this stage of the journey) but it is a fair bit easier since it is working directly with the DOM and I don't need Node/NPM or anything else extra.
