The compilation by learnxinyminutes.com might not be exhaustive (especially since there are subtle differences in syntax and function between the dialects by Gruber, GitHub, Pandoc [e.g., more than one line in a table's cell]). But if you do not intend to write a thesis in markdown (including a bibliography, see pandoc's page, or /r/pandoc), this markdown 101 is both handy and often powerful enough.
