  • webpack

A bundler for javascript and friends. Packs many modules into a few bundled assets. Code Splitting allows for loading parts of the application on demand. Through "loaders", modules can be CommonJs, AMD, ES6 modules, CSS, Images, JSON, Coffeescript, LESS, ... and your custom stuff.

  • Stuck with the issue for a few days, I remembered something I had been curious about some weeks before and had a strange feeling it might be playing a role. It was about how code bundled by Webpack had a global variable, webpackJsonP, used for loading other scripts (chunks) of the code when needed. These chunks are the result of a concept called code-splitting which splits code into smaller different parts based on the code structure. It helps to load only the needed CSS and/or Javascript on a site instead of loading an enormous amount of code that might not be required at the time.
