installing an older version doesn't help, (for me at least) and isn't necessary either, but I just got a 64-bit version of pale moon browser (temporarily), and I'll be using that until waterfox fixes it. They said they will be doing a massive overhaul of waterfox when firefox esr 78 is discontinued, so maybe that new version won't have this bug. Mozilla said that they'll discontinue it around june, so i'll keep a look out for that.
