Ultimately, you're going to need to look into that SSD issue on Surfaces on Linux in general, and see what the solutions are. If it's just a config change, that can just go in your nixos configuration. There's also nixos-hardware which might do the work of getting the custom kernel of surfaces for you, along with settings, possibly.
