During the development of Nox Archaist lead developer Mark discovered that (some? all?) modern LCDs don't properly "blend" colors together like CRTs did "for free". (Sorry, can't find a picture.) You can see this "double scanline" blending to produce more colors in the (classic?) title screen of Aztec. Tom has some pictures of The Bard's Tale intro screen which also demonstrate this. If I'm not mistaken Karateka also uses the natural blending of a color TV mixing blue + orange to produce a green ground. Our Color TV mode in AppleWin still isn't accurate so this is one reason to use an actual TV instead of an emulator. Will most people care about accurate colors? Probably not. But I thought I should at least point it out. Other emulators such as OpenEmulator do a fantastic job of emulating the CRT monitor and all of its quarks. Sadly it doesn't emulator an enhanced Apple //e yet so you are stuck with Apple ][+ compatible games.
