Emacs on a Mac

Our great sponsors
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • SaaSHub - Software Alternatives and Reviews
  • zsh

Mirror of the Z shell source code repository.

  • When macOS switched to zsh I went through a painful transition. Before then, I had my ns-command-modifier set to meta so M-x would be cmd X for me. With bash, that was ok.

  • yabai

A tiling window manager for macOS based on binary space partitioning

  • Like you, I get a lot of mileage out of the additional modifiers. On my HHKB the bottom row is alt - meta - space - super - hyper and gosh does it work out well. (Control on the HHKB is next to the A.) What's particularly nice about the setup is that I've managed to free up the few C-M-xxx bindings that I use with any regularity (by rehoming them to H-xxx) and dedicate the C-M-xxx chords to yabai.

  • WorkOS

The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS. The APIs are flexible and easy-to-use, supporting authentication, user identity, and complex enterprise features like SSO and SCIM provisioning.
