  • I looked into this not that long ago because I was curious as to whether MS was responsible. The official announcement to can Atom was fairly recent (2022), the GH acquisition was mid 2018. Looking at the contributor activity shows it was still pretty active until 2020 https://github.com/atom/atom/graphs/contributors So Microsoft could still have been responsible. I swear last time I checked that it showed it died in like 2015, maybe I was looking at the wrong thing...
