I was excited to stumble across OpenIPC, the open source replacement for the crappy firmware that comes with many IP cameras, especially the generic ones. But their description of what you can do with OpenIPC and how to use it is really sparse. It seems that it provides a bunch of RTSP stream options, but that doesn't seem like a big advantage over the OEM firmware, which also provides RTSP streams fairly easily. What I'm curious about is whether OpenIPC gives you control over much or all of the same stuff -- like motion detection, noise reduction, brightness, etc -- that the OEM firmware provides. And I can't find anything about this, and no GUI screenshots. I suppose this likely means that OpenIPC doesn't provide these controls, only the RTSP streaming options, but that raises the question why bother with the difficulty and risk of flashing this alternative firmware?
