Less technically-inclined users might not appreciate the way that RetroDeck goes about, well, being an overall well-designed software. The risk associated with curl | bash and horrible file management are pretty glaring issues. Normal users won't touch their file system, so the latter isn't the biggest issue, but it does create a possibility for other software to attempt to use the same generic folder names, thus causing a conflict. It's a no-brainer imo to go with RetroDeck. It's much more stable and safe. not necessary you can just follow https://github.com/dragoonDorise/EmuDeck/issues/53 and then delete the desktop shortcuts and you should be fine afterwards
They are tested before reaching the release channel... There are more frequent updates if you use Cooker builds.
