I'm using this kind of implementation for months on my keyboard: I don't / can't change the language on the OS (Windows, mac, Linux) side, so the keyboard must be recognized as a french azerty. The layout on my keyboard isn't azerty but I have dedicated key to accents, punctuations and symbols... A lot of code is involved in doing so.
