I'm also on team no remap. I don't use hjkl anymore and instead have a nav layer bound to where hjkl would be when I hold a thumb key down. I also use https://github.com/easymotion/vim-easymotion Bound to norm s.

I have the arrow keys on a layer under my fingers on the left hand (see https://github.com/qmk/qmk_firmware/blob/master/keyboards/kprepublic/jj40/keymaps/skewwhiffy/keymap.c). Although I seldom used arrow keys, preferring f, t, w, b etc.
