It sounds like a better solution in your case would be to simply run a Docker image (e.g. [this one](https://github.com/lloesche/valheim-server-docker) which my chart uses), which should be a lot simpler and easier to get started with. You could try on your own machine to start with, and then move to a server online. You could get a VPS (virtual private server) which is like a cheap dedicated(-ish) server. OVH offers really cheap ones ([see here](https://www.ovhcloud.com/en/vps/)) though their support tends to be lacking, there are plenty of other providers to choose from though.
