    • Take a look at Pixelfed. I haven't tried it, but it's what usually comes up as an Instagram alternative.

    High performance self-hosted photo and video management solution.

    • Unfortunately you sit in the same boat as all the selfhosters. We all wait for something to come out, to replace Google photos. Best and promising thing so far is Immich imo. It's still early in development and more for testing things out. A stable release is somewhat around the corner, but will probably take a while. If you can help, then go ahead and talk to the dev(s). Maybe you can bring in your software engineering and help the community to be truly free from Google. Thank you in advance!
