Copilot steals your personal code. No, it does not. While copilot may use your code as Training data, you can also easily uncheck this option if you are really concerned (https://github.com/settings/copilot)
They also bundled it into a web service, VSCode.dev, which integrates with GitHub, and which as of yet is not self-hostable. So if you want that, you are dependent on Microsoft. It's notable to me that there were already other projects offering a self-hostable web instance of VSCode before they entered the space...
