  LWJGL is a Java library that enables cross-platform access to popular native APIs useful in the development of graphics (OpenGL, Vulkan, bgfx), audio (OpenAL, Opus), parallel computing (OpenCL, CUDA) and XR (OpenVR, LibOVR, OpenXR) applications.

  

If you want to develop something in 3D I recommend you use either a game engine (something like jMonkeyEngine) or a game/graphics library/framework. If you want the most close to metal library possible in java, I recommend something like LWJGL, if you want some higher level of abstraction, but still not a fully-fledge game engine, you can use something like libGDX. Another option would be Processing.
