There's been a bunch of work towards upstreamable D1 SOC support in this kernel tree: https://github.com/smaeul/linux/commits/riscv/d1-wip (currently based on 5.18-rc1 kernel, so much newer!) and I wonder how much additional work on that would be required to support the R01 board.
