BodyGen has always worked fine for me in VR. One thing you can try is download SynthEBD - even if you don’t actually use the program to manage NPC appearance, there’s a button in the BodyGen menu to set the RaceMenu ini for BodyGen to work properly. You could try that to see if it solves whatever issue you’re having getting BodyGen to work.
