This is built into web design languages and browsers because there are legitimate uses for a website to ask for some of this data, mainly to tailor the UI to the device, but when you collect and combine all of this data together it makes up a surprisingly unique device "fingerprint." All you can do is trust them to use that data responsibly. But when someone decides to sell that data, people can cross reference your fingerprint with other websites you've visited with the same fingerprint.
