I just tested the https://github.com/dperson/openvpn-client to use my NordVPN account and could get it working, the container connects succesfully! Can I somehow share this connection to other LAN devices (eg my TV) where I cant't install a VPN client?
I have a dedicated router running OpenWRT and a dedicated WiFi router that is also running OpenWRT. Again, they may be the same device without changing anything. From there, I configured my router to be my VPN client. I use a plugin called VPN Policy Router to control which devices in my home are routed through the VPN and which are not. This has allowed me to put any device, regardless of what configuration it supports, into my VPN but it comes with a pretty high cost. It doesn't cost much money but there's a lot of learning, frustration, and setup cost involved. If you want your router to support gigabit internet then it also costs a lot of money to build a router with enough CPU available.
