  • Heck, PHP's implementation has vector support for sse3 and neon, it sure as shit better be fast. This is a great example of how the different languages can be hard to compare. if you want a "fair" comparison, you would write your own base64 encoder in php and compare that against Go's version, or you'd allow Go to use cgo to execute C code.
