I'm also confused why I need to maintain an unofficial archlinux image. What I'm saying is that the docker run approach with the existing official archlinux image already works out of the box! Even with systemd and cgroups and everything. That's what I'm documenting (and will maintain) at https://github.com/tombh/arch-in-docker-for-daily-use

Are things like https://github.com/tokland/arch-bootstrap functionally equivalent to pacstrap? Or can pacstrap be installed on Ubuntu/Debian etc?
