  An extension for Thunderbird that allows you to view threads as "real" conversations, including your own emails. This extension also adds a bunch of useful UI features in the conversation view.

  

2- With the extension Thunderbird Conversations Basically, if you follow the installation and configuration instructions found here and also the first time you install the extension, then it will show complete threads with both the messages you receive and those you sent. Even though it does exactly what it says, I didn't like the experience because I don't easily know where are really stored each message and there is also a difference where are showed messages when you start the discussion vs when someone else starts it. Besides, I am generally not a fan of the say a full discussion is shown in a message viewed in Conversation mode (and I don't like the way GMail shows it either).
