I'm a long time C/C++, C# programmer it doesn't take long to learn GO just some oddness with operators and initializers. You don't need to know much about Linux to dev. Strux Dev how to: https://github.com/b3nn0/stratux/wiki/Developing-Stratux . I couldn't get Git pushes from the Statux to work, I ended up doing coding to a topic branch on PC and then pulling back to the Stratux
