fancontrol-gui
GUI for Fancontrol. It uses the KAuth module of the KDE Frameworks 5 to write the generated config file. Furthermore it communicates with systemd via dbus to control the fancontrol service. If you want to compile without systemd support set the -DNO_SYSTEMD option.
https://github.com/hirschmann/nbfc I've used this in the past. The only part I don't like is it uses Mono, although it worked fine for me. There is also a linux port for this : https://github.com/nbfc-linux/nbfc-linux, but I'm having trouble with it.

as far as I remember, I just needed to install fan control from the repos, and then visit the github page here https://github.com/Maldela/fancontrol-gui and follow the building instructions. I'm not sure if I had to really configure lm-sensors manually, I don't believe so.
