I know a better option, this guy https://github.com/mmtrt/WINE_AppImage has done a fantastic job in distributing AppImage version of Wine Stable, Staging and Devel.
These AppImages are also updatable using appimageupdate from here.
In my personal project it is possible to install/update these versions of WINE AppImage using some dedicated scripts (wine-stable, wine-staging and wine-devel) using a really simple command... and these are not the only AppImage versions of Wine I use. There are several projects that are using AppImage to bundle Wine and related tools, just search "wine appimage" on GitHub.
If you need a development release of Wine, the most straightforward option is probably Bottles, but if you need more control, you can probably run Kron4ek builds inside the sandbox. You might think, "wait, don't those builds make this Flatpak redundant?" No, they don't. You still need the Wine dependencies to run those builds, but they are present inside the sandbox, so you don't have to install them in your distro.
