Freestanding Snowflake as an I2P plugin

  • Oh this is kind of exciting, I actually recently re-wrote this code as part of a project to make Snowflakes more widespread! u/blackjp1337 one of the neat things about it is that it can now be used as a library which embeds a Snowflake "Donor" into other long-running applications without requiring the user to re-implement any part of the Snowflake technology itself. It could go into Bittorrent clients, or video game servers, or anything else. The example case is actually an I2P plugin. The source code of the standalone version is here: https://gitlab.torproject.org/tpo/anti-censorship/pluggable-transports/snowflake/-/blob/main/proxy/main.go and functions as a very basic example of how to do it, and https://github.com/eyedeekay/blizzard/blob/trunk/main.go is the plugin code which should work as a slightly more elaborate example. The idea, I hope, is that software projects that have a common interest in providing the ability to access information and connect people could add a "Donate a Snowflake to Tor" option to their applications. It's neat to see somebody else thinks more ways to run a Snowflake is a good idea. Cool python implementation.
