The content can be managed with markdown files (MDX is like WP shortcodes on steroids), or a headless CMS like Contentful or Prismic. Even WordPress, Drupal, or Shopify can be used as the headless CMS while still getting all the benefits of the jamstack framework.
The frameworks I like are Eleventy (for full control over all the output), or Gatsby/Next/Nuxt which all provide an interesting way to get the benefits of server rendered pages and the speed of an SPA at the same time.
