Her source code is on GitHub here, and she credits a YouTube (Nicholas Renotte) tutorial video as the basis for her work - what she did was more or less a copy/paste, though points for actually putting the code in a public forum (the original author did not, probably not out of malice).

That video is predated at least a year by handtrack.js, which itself wasn't really new, it was just interesting because it was the first one you could do in a web browser (fun demo here).
