I am not good with stuff like this but I want to get a modal tilling windows manager up and running. What I mean by modal is instead of having to touch a mod key everytime I do a shortcut I want to have one key that enters shortcut mode and until I exit that mode every shortcut is a single key. I tried using this config https://github.com/guillaumecherel/i3-modal but it didn't work. I'm not sure why. any advice would be appreciated. thanks. another possibility is getting caps lock to be the mod key. but all the guides I found on the internet were to complicated for me.
