I realized that when i made the "Dead Horse" thread, instead of sparking discussion about the subreddit, it turned into a pitchfork factory. Instead of complaining about an issue with no merit, here's how to make your TF2 Weapon Idea not look *as* dumb.

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/tf2

  • TF2-Server-Manager

A simple tool that creates and manages your Team Fortress 2 servers.

  • Test it out in-game. I know not all of you are good with computers, but if you have about 2 1/2 hours to burn and decent wifi, you can go to https://github.com/mrphil2105/TF2-Server-Manager, and just straight up download a server. It does everything, and I mean EVERYTHING you need to do to open a server, including opening the appropriate ports on your router. Install the requirements for Custom Weapons X, found here, https://github.com/nosoop/SM-TFCustomWeaponsX, and then download the mod itself. It takes some time, but it's a nice thing to do. And then, just...make some weapons. I have literally zero knowledge of programing or coding, but because the example weapon found within CWX's files contains a tutorial, it's honestly kind of easy to pick up and do. I have somewhere north of 20 custom weapons in my server, and fixing them is easy.

  • SM-TFCustomWeaponsX

SourceMod plugin that allows players to use custom TF2 items.
