Preparing for when NextDNS gets blocked

This page summarizes the projects mentioned and recommended in the original post on /r/nextdns

  • SurveyJS - Open-Source JSON Form Builder to Create Dynamic Forms Right in Your App
  • WorkOS - The modern identity platform for B2B SaaS
  • InfluxDB - Power Real-Time Data Analytics at Scale
  • doh-cf-workers

    DNS-over-HTTPS proxy on Cloudflare Workers

  • If it's just the DNS, hosting your own DoH proxy (so it can be set to forward to your NextDNS account) on Cloudflare Workers is seriously easy, if your government then mandate to block Workers entirely, you can use any custom domain. They won't be able to block Cloudflare entirely because a very large portion of websites run on Cloudflare (which in itself may become a concern in the future, but oh well).

  • DoH

  • Get a PHP hosting (dime a dozen these days), and proxying on PHP is also seamless, pretty much any website can have a secret URL that serves DoH.

  • SurveyJS

Open-Source JSON Form Builder to Create Dynamic Forms Right in Your App. With SurveyJS form UI libraries, you can build and style forms in a fully-integrated drag & drop form builder, render them in your JS app, and store form submission data in any backend, inc. PHP, ASP.NET Core, and Node.js.

  • outline-apps

Outline Client and Manager, developed by Jigsaw. Outline Manager makes it easy to create your own VPN server. Outline Client lets you share access to your VPN with anyone in your network, giving them access to the free and open internet.

  • If your government ends up going the current India route, censoring with DPI, DoH won't help due to SNI (ECH would solve it, but support is limited to Firefox and some domains, mostly those on Cloudflare), you'll then need an actual VPN. Oracle Cloud offers free VPS with 10 TB traffic per month, more than enough power to host every VPN protocol under Sol, including Outline VPN with Shadowsocks implementation designed to avoid simplistic detection.
