Is it possible to watch VP9 videos on Gnome Web?

  • I know this isn't exactly the fix you're looking for, but for me I had to rely on using mpv to play my youtube etc videos in vp9 using the hardware acceleration either set in the mpv.conf or pressing the ctrl+h hotkey. In fact I did away with using the browser completely, by using ytfzf. I don't know how to fix your issue, but at least this is something else to use as an alternative for playing vp9 in the meantime. I'm sure someone else will be able to chime in on the issue you're having.
