I found one solution to my question. It is an app called Plash that lets you put a webpage on your desktop as a background. I went one further and used the URL of the image I wanted and set it to update every few minutes. It’s not as customizable, but it works for now in light of a better solution. I figured I’d leave the link here in case someone else comes across this and wants to give it a shot: Plash web page
