With the code from https://github.com/NixOS/mobile-nixos/pull/445, build the demo example with nix-build --argstr device pine64-pinephonepro -A outputs.temp-tow-boot-install-script examples/demo/; of course instead of example/demo you can have your own configuration, but I started with demo

Get Tow-Boot from https://github.com/Tow-Boot/Tow-Boot/pull/67 and copy it to the eMMC with dd if=result/shared.disk-image.img of=/dev/mmcblk2 bs=8M oflag=direct,sync; mmcblk2 was the eMMC for me, check with lsblk to make sure you are writing to the correct disk, and do sudo -i to gain root priviledges before dding
