I also used Proton-6.21-GE-2 instead of Proton Experimental because the audio fix for silent voices was already included. I managed to get a stable load order with around 100 mods with it (more if I wanted to).
The poster said in an edit that the guide is outdated since you can use steamtinkerlaunch. You might want to try that first, but this was the method that worked best on my system.
