Nope. Your argent zksync doesn't need to touch any L1. However you'll need a way to fund your argent zksync wallet in advance. I did it by going here some months ago: https://zksync.io/ to create my zksync wallet. In this case you'll need to make an L1 transfer to your zksync wallet there. Once you have a zksync wallet you can transfer fund from that zksync wallet to argent zksync using L2. Depending on gas it can take like $70 to get your first zksync wallet on that link.
