What I meant was I thought jellyfin might have (for whatever reason) thought there was no metadata for your content and was going out to the internet to re-download all the thumbnails, descriptions, cover art, etc for all of your content, just as if this was your first time installing. Jellyfin's options are to "Scan for new and updated files", "Search for missing metadata" and "Replace all metadata" (found by clicking the three dots on any movie/tv show and clicking 'Refresh metadata'. It kind of feels like it's doing a 'refresh all metadata' each time you startup. I don't see anywhere in the admin dashboard where this option can be set but looking at an old git issue (https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-web/issues/3048) it looks like jellyfin-web/src/components/refreshdialog/refreshdialog.js stores which behavior is default. Anyway have a look at that issue and check the line in the file listed in that issue. Perhaps somehow your jellyfin is stuck on 'refresh all metadata'?
