  • archlinux-bootia32

bootia32.efi for Arch Linux (automated builds)

  • USB did not get detected in the boot menu. I believe this is because most ISOs don't support 32 bit UEFI. The fix seems to be adding a bootia32.efi to /EFI/BOOT/ on the ISO. For Arch specifically, there's this repository that generates this file every month. However, the latest file here is for the ARCH_202112 ISO and gives errors that I think are related to the version mismatch.

  • So I put the bootia32.efi from this repository instead. However, using this file drops me into the GRUB shell rather than the selection menu. To fix that I put a grub.cfg file in /boot/grub/ on the ISO with the contents as described here.
