  • udisks

  • They can switch to use UDisks2.

  • distrobox

Use any linux distribution inside your terminal. Enable both backward and forward compatibility with software and freedom to use whatever distribution you’re more comfortable with. Mirror available at: https://gitlab.com/89luca89/distrobox

  • You can, yes. Or you can layer it with rpm-ostree install and reboot but that's kind of defeating the purpose of silverblue. Gui apps work fine in toolbox. Also check out distrobox https://github.com/89luca89/distrobox It also uses podman as backend but 2 things: you can use other distros, And it can export apps to host system. You get a app icon in launcher and it looks like a gui app like normal. Also it's way faster then toolbox. But it's the same purpose as toolbox, just way more flexible.
