  • uBlock

  • Someone on GitHub reported similar issue, but turn out he had malformed storage for some reason. You can check The logger for red lines with one filter like *asdf repeating again and again. Purging and updating should fix this. uBO Dashboard -> Filter lists -> click on "Purge all caches" -> "Update now".

  • AdGuardSDNSFilter

    AdGuard DNS filter

  • optionally set your browser's dns-over-https URL provider in the browser-settings to custom provider and paste https://94.140.14.14/dns-query, that is AdGuard-DNS. it will block banners and static ads from youtube, both in website-sidebars and over-the-video player. you are using an IP instead of the hostname dns.adguard.com as shown in https://kb.adguard.com/en/general/dns-providers#adguard-dns to counter anti-ad-block resolvers, and this is a super easy way of changing your DNS provider that does not involve tweaking various bits and bobs in your operation system or your router. AdGuard returns 0.0.0.0 when known bad hostnames (see: https://github.com/AdguardTeam/AdGuardSDNSFilter/blob/master/Filters/rules.txt ) are queried, and it really eases up the browser background network service.
