  • kwin-effects-blur-respect-rounded-decorations

A fork of the kwin blur effect that solve the corners bug.

  • If you're using KDE and plan to a fancy-looking theme (= one with blur and rounded corners), you'll definitely want this to make it look not broken: https://github.com/Alban-Boissard/kwin-effects-blur-respect-rounded-decorations (I made an AUR package for this as well)

  • bismuth

KDE Plasma add-on, that tiles your windows automatically and lets you manage them via keyboard, similarly to i3, Sway or dwm.

  • WMs in general are lighter than DEs which should lead to less resources usage and less bugs. They usually don't come with things like a settings app, polkit agent, launcher, file manager, compositor, etc. so you really choose almost every component of your desktop. Tiling WMs are great for a keyboard centric workflow, you can get really fast with them and take strain off your hands, but not all apps are suitable for tiling. I like auto tilers myself and used DWM for a long time for that reason but switched to KDE recently cauae it supports Wayland, fullscreen apps behave better and everything is almost set up out of the box. Fortunately there are good tiling scripts like Bismuth
