Elpy just works, for me. I've recently started using lsp-mode with python as well, and the lsp-jedi language server which seemed to be the lowest-fuss option.

Do you have specifics for how to do this? I tried setting it up using Emacs 27.2 on macOS and ran into problems. And I saw eglot issue #768 "pyright cannot work with eglot #768"
