newer parts of the wider org-cite infrastructure already support the format or at least plan to support it. (Concretely, the oc-csl.el CSL-based org-cite export processor supports it out of the box via citeproc-el, and there are some plans to support the format in parsebib and citar, see the issue https://github.com/bdarcus/citar/issues/397.
