I've used morrownr's drivers for my rtl88x2bu USB dongle and things have worked out well -- he also has an 8812au driver you can try. Though, you'd have to change Step 6 in his instructions from downloading the driver to copying the driver files from the USB drive to the ~/src that you make in an earlier step.
You can also purchase a Wi-Fi adapter with mainline kernel support that will just work out of the box -- the same guy has a list of them here.
