How do Google cloud users setup their creds with GitHub Actions? Do people usually just use the env variables that the Terraform docs suggests? Does anyone use https://github.com/google-github-actions/auth with Terraform?

Have you looked into the summerwinds GitHub Actions k8s controller at all? We've got a basic set up for now, but there's not a massive demand for self hosted runners yet so haven't put loads of development time into using it. It basically allows you to run self hosted runners on kubernetes, with all the associated auto scaling benefits.
