Trying to make a mod, but Java says it's outdated (even if it's not)

Hi! I'm trying to make a new mod from the mod example, and I have installed everything like in this video, but I'm having an issue when opening the project in VS Code. The "Problems" tab states:

• a-minecraft-mod-sure-why-not

Any idea why? I checked the names of the different files/folders/entrypoints multiple times, but they seem to be right. I made a repo
