  • fabric-example-mod

    Example Fabric mod

Project mention: Writing Minecraft Mods And "Where Do I Start?" | | 2022-05-23

I started modding using Fabric; specifically a combination of the tutorial on the wiki, reading how other mods do stuff, and asking on the Discord. Once you're familiar with how Minecraft works internally using one mod-loader it's easy enough to transfer to the others (or multiple at once, using Architectury as pointed out), but I wouldn't start off with this. The example mod also gets you a setup you can modify at will.

  • ViaVersion

Allows the connection of newer clients to older server versions for Minecraft servers.

Project mention: Is there a way to get the pre 1.17 world generation back? | | 2022-05-23

I think the only way to totally accomplish what you're trying to do would be with a server rather than a realm. You could run a 1.16 server with ViaVersion to allow newer versions of Minecraft to connect to it. I believe that this would maintain 1.16 world generation even when generating new chunks.

  • yarn

Libre Minecraft mappings, free to use for everyone. No exceptions. (by FabricMC)

Project mention: Mojang added telemetry back to Minecraft in version 21w38a, and no you can't opt-out. | | 2021-10-31

I doubt that, especially considering Mojang started releasing obfuscation maps for Java Edition AFTER the introduction of datapacks. Furthermore, even before Mojang started releasing obfuscation maps there have been resources to deobfuscate the game, some dating back to the alpha days. In addition, many modders have opted to continue to use community deobfuscators to mod the game as a result of the terms of use attached to the Mojang mappings, and as such they are still under active development, yarn being the most popular (to my knowledge) community mapping project. None of these community mappings are in violation of copyright law to my knowledge, and I know for a fact yarn in particular isn't.

  • Terra

Project mention: Anyone knows Terra terrain generator? | | 2021-12-28

Terra is an extremely customisable terrain engine, which allows you to make your own terrain generators. It's very in depth, but does have a fairly large learning curve. I highly recommend you join the Discord and check out the GitHub for examples, however.

Project mention: Living Animations with GeckoLib | | 2022-05-03

  • AntiqueAtlas

A Minecraft mod that adds a fancy interactive map item.

Project mention: Having problems loading my world! Help me please | | 2021-06-24
