dash-to-panel
An icon taskbar for the Gnome Shell. This extension moves the dash into the gnome main panel so that the application launchers and system tray are combined into a single panel, similar to that found in KDE Plasma and Windows 7+. A separate dock is no longer needed for easy access to running and favorited applications.
Just got upgraded to 41 and used dash-to-panel from git and altho it seems that people on this issue says that the support is pretty unstable, so far it seems to work for me (finger crossed)

But Sway does use wlroots https://github.com/emersion/xdg-desktop-portal-wlr it has its own portal.

you still xdg-desktop-portal-wlr in sway for screen sharing. the purpose of the gtk portal on non-gnome setups is to pass through some gtk settings (e.g. fontconfig, aliasing, gtk theme) to flatpak apps. your gtk flatpak apps won't follow the system theme and fontconfig unless you have the xdg-desktop-portal-gtk installed. right now it's borked though see below for more details - https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/72686?project=1&string=xdg-desktop-portal-gtk - https://github.com/flatpak/xdg-desktop-portal-gtk/issues/360
